Sugar Cookies with Royal Icing for the natural baker!

Delicious sugar cookies:!

I'm not sure what's worse, sugar cookies that taste like cardboard or sugar cookies that taste like preservatives. This recipe tastes delicious and I think it has something to do with the butter and cream cheese. The dough is extremely easy to work with. My daughter made adorable candy corn cookies. Make sure to use organic ingredients so that your cookies taste amazing! Check out her recipes:

Sugar cookie recipe:

• 2 sticks (8 ounces) of unsalted butter, softened

• 2 ounces of cream cheese, softened

• 1 cup of granulated sugar

• 1 large egg

• 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

• 3 cups of all-purpose flour

• 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder

• 1/2 teaspoon of salt

Blend your butter, cream cheese, and sugar until creamy. Add in egg & vanilla. Mix your dry ingredients in a separate bowl and then slowly add them to your creamed mixture.

Preheat over to 350°

Roll out your dough and cut it into shapes. Place the shapes onto a parchment lined cookie sheet. Chill for 10 minutes in freezer then put into preheated oven.

Bake at 350° for 8-10 minutes.
